Rev. Dr. Christine (Potter) Kass, better known as Pastor Christy, is our senior pastor. She is Kansas born and bred (go McPherson Bullpups!) although she lived a number of places before accepting the call to come back to Kansas.

She studied at New York University and received her Master of Divinity degree from Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with concentrations in Biblical Studies and Spiritual Formation. She received her Doctorate in Ministry from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

A proud Gen Xer, she loves Jesus, books, plants, Neil Diamond, really hoppy IPAs, and the KC Royals. She lives in Hutchinson with her husband, Guy. The Kasses have been foster parents, and also share their home with two cats, Dolly Purrton and Reba Smackentire, and their crazy rescue dog, Winnie. In her spare time, Pastor Christy makes pottery, and has been known to carry on entire conversations in nothing but Seinfeld and Golden Girls quotes.

Pastor Christy preaches at the 8:15 a.m. service in the Chapel (just inside the church’s east entrance) and the traditional worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the main sanctuary. Her children’s talk at the 10:30 service is always a hit!
