Connecting others to Jesus through worship

8:15 Chapel Worship

Our 8:15 worship is a small, intimate service held in the chapel, on the main level just inside the church’s east entrance. It includes hymns sung from the hymnal, led by our song leader and accompanied by our organist, scripture readings, and a sermon by Pastor Christy.

Worship @ 9

The best first step is sometimes through the front door. We would love to meet you and introduce you to our church family. There is a place for everyone here at FPC. We have a worship experience to suit all ages and styles. Worship at 9 is a contemporary worship service that takes place in the sanctuary.

Worship at 10:30

Our 10:30 service is a more traditional worship experience. Held in the church’s main sanctuary, this service includes a full choir (except during the summer), a children’s sermon (after which children may go to KidZone), scripture readings, related videos, and biblically-based sermons by Pastor Christy.

MUSIC MINISTRY

We are fortunate to be able to worship God in a historic sanctuary with modern technology. Our church has been located on the corner of Sherman and Poplar in Hutchinson since 1872, and our present sanctuary was built in 1888. We strive to keep up with the latest technology in order to make our worship services enjoyable for everyone while preserving the integrity of our historic sanctuary.

Chancel Choir

FPC’s Chancel Choir is known throughout the area for its incredible sound. From anthems that help bring Sunday morning worship to life, to its roof-raising rendition of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” on Easter morning, our Chancel Choir is a worship experience unto itself. We have two talented pipe organists (a rarity these days!), a gifted pianist, and our master choir director, David Anderson, whose expertise spans decades and includes a stint in the U.S. Army Chorus. He’s even been known to bring out his Irish whistle when the mood strikes him.

Besides making beautiful music together, the FPC Chancel Choir is a great group of people who genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and they are always looking for people to join them. Rehearsals are Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. in the Cornerstone Room. For more information on joining, contact David Anderson using the link below.

FPC Praise Band & Bell Choir

The FPC Praise Band, which plays during W@9, features instruments, vocalists and background music.

The bell choir is currently on hiatus, but will be re-forming in the near future.

For more information on any of FPC’s music programs, contact David Anderson.
